This Standard gives the requirements for three types of E-type glass sleeving using either braided or knitted construction with a continuous acrylic based coating, and differentiated by their breakdown voltage: high breakdown voltage (sheet 4039, medium breakdown voltage (sheet 404) and low breakdown voltage (sheet 405). These sleevings have been found suitable for use at temperatures up to 155 °C. The sleeving is normally available with internal diameters between 0,3 mm and 25 mm and in wall thicknesses between 0,15 mm and 1,20 mm. The sleeving is normally supplied in the following colours; black, white, red, yellow, blue, brown, green, green/yellow and natural. Sizes or colours other than those specifically listed in this standard may be available as custom items. These items shall be considered to comply with this standard if they comply with the other property requirements listed in tables 2 and 4. Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a specific application should be based on the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone.
