This standard gives the requirements for E type glass sleeving using either braided or knitted construction with a continuous flexible coating based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or its copolymers or blends thereof. These sleevings have been found suitable up to temperatures of 150 C. The sleeving is normally available with internal diameters between 0,3 mm and 25 mm and is normally supplied in the following colours: black, white, red, yellow, blue, brown, green, grey, orange, pink and green/yellow. Sizes or colours other than those specifically listed in this standard may be available as custom items. These items shall be considered to comply with this standard if they comply with the other property requirements listed in Tables 2 and 5 except for dimensions, and, where applicable, in table 3. Materials which conform to this specification meet established levels of performance. However, the selection of a material by a user for a specific application should be based in the actual requirements necessary for adequate performance in that application and not based on this specification alone.
