This part of IEC 61753 contains the minimum requirements and severities which a single mode connector/cable assembly must satisfy in order to be considered as meeting category U (uncontrolled environment) of IEC 61753-1, as defined in annex A of IEC 61753-1. This standard contains optional grades of optical performance for the attenuation random mate and return loss tests.
