This international standard applies to recording and reproducing equipment for the MiniDisc that conforms to the specifications of IEC 61909. The object of this standard is to list and to define the characteristics affecting the performance of MiniDisc recorders or players, to establish conditions and methods of measurement of those characteristics, and to standardize the presentation of the results.
