-This specification covers several types of casting pipe eliminators. This material retards the solidification of molten metal in ingot tops and in feeder heads and risers of castings.

-The Pipe eliminators covered by this specification shall be of the following types and classes, as specified (see 6.1)

    Type A - Carbonaceous.
    Type B - Carbon free.
    Type C - Insulating materials.
    Type D - Exothermic.
      Class I  - Mildly exothermic.
      Class II - Highly exothermic.
    Type E - Riser sleeves.
      Class I  - Insulating.
      Class II - Exothermic.
