NAVY ML-P-22497C NOTCE 1 1998-APR-22 POWER SUPPLES TYPE V TORPEDO TESTNG
This specification describes the requirements for the procurement of a rectifier type power supply for use in Naval shipboard or shore-based torpedo workshops. Power Supply Type IV(A) will supply various dc voltages for torpedo electrical systems normally energized by storage batteries. In addition to supplying continuous direct current, it must also be capable of providing periodic current pulses of relatively large magnitude and short duration.
The power supply shall be of the following one type:
(a) Input voltage: 208/220/440 volts, 50/60 Hz, 3-phase ac.
(b) Output rating:
(1) Regulated, continuously variable from 6 volts dc or less to 40 volts dc or greater with a 100 ampere continuous capacity and a 200 ampere capacity from start to 15 seconds.
(2) Regulated, continuously variable from 6 volts dc or less to 90 volts dc or greater with a 50 ampere continuous capacity and a 100 ampere capacity from start to 15 seconds.
